Dear members,
Sevalaya is one of the leading NGOs based out of Chennai, involved in charitable work in various fields including Education, Medicine & Agriculture among others. The Organization runs free school, medical centres, mobile medical services, community colleges for skill development of rural youth, organic farming, gaushala sheltering dry cows and homes for the orphan and destitute children and senior citizens. In 33 years of its operations, Sevalaya has transformed 40 villages from 100% child labour to 100% literacy, through quality education given free to 4000 rural children, providing higher education for 1000+ students, housed and shaped the lives of 500+ orphans, given dignity and shelter to 225+ destitute elders, imparted skills and facilitated employment to 2400+ rural youth, reached healthcare to 1,25,000 poor and needy rural folks, and delivered relief, essential items and food to over 1,92,000+ people affected by natural calamities and COVID-19 pandemic.
It’sfounder Muralidharan is a TCS alumni and a FORTESS member. With FORTESS and Sevalaya being driven by the same goals, focus and passion, we see this as an immense opportunity to work together for the larger good.
In this regard, we have organized for an exclusive session with Muralidharan. The session will provide an overview of Sevalaya and its services towards uplifting the lives of the under-privileged. We will also brainstorm about leveraging the unmatched capabilities and expertise of FORTESS members in contributing to the society using Sevalaya as a platform.
We request all of you to make yourselves available for this session, as we would hopefully be joining hands in a number of projects as we move forward. The meeting will happen virtually over the ZOOM platform, the details of which are given below.

About Muralidharan: V. Muralidharan, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Science and TCS, is the Founder and Managing trustee of Sevalaya. Muralidharan had a long stint with TCS from 1987 till 2009. He played a leadership role as the South Zone and GDC Quality Head and contributed immensely in getting ISO and CMM certifications for many of the TCS Delivery centers. His rich experience in Project management and Quality management gained from his TCS days, coupled with his passion for serving the underprivileged, translated into his secret for success in nurturing Sevalaya as a leading NGO.
