FORTESS inaugurated the Smartlab in 11 Govt schools in the district of Kumbakonam on the 8th of July. The event was presided by Mr. S Ramadorai, President Fortess & ex Vice Chairman, TCS, Mr S Mahalingam Vice President, Fortess, ex CFO TCS and Dr Kamakodi, CEO & MD City Union Bank. Other Senior members Mr P R Krishnan, Secretary, Fortess & ex EVP, TCS, Dr Kesavaswamy, Ravi Venkataraman, Mrs. Hema Gopal and Ramesh Bala were part of the Inaugural event. The event was held at the Panchayat Union Public school in Thiribhuvanam and was attended by the Block Education Officer, HMs of the 10 beneficiary schools, teachers & students. Smart TVs with Kalvi40 app pre-installed in them were distributed to the HMs. This was the first step towards Digital upgradation support by FORTESS for the rural schools.
