e-Yantra is a project funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and hosted at IIT-Bombay. Fortress member Prof. Kavi Arya is the Principal investigator for e-yantra. Following his address to our members who attended the AGM in Mumbai, we organized a full fledged session via Zoom, for the benefit of all our members, where Prof Kavi spoke on “Changing Indian student mindset at scale: From exam orientation to solving real problems”. His address also covered e-yantra’s working, its accomplishments & plans for the future, and how the great minds at Fortess can contribute to the same and make a difference.
About e-yantra:
e-Yantra is a project funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and hosted at IIT-Bombay. The e-yantra team has trained over 2L+ students in complex engineering skills since it was launched in 2012. They have set up 450+ e-Yantra labs in colleges to train students in Embedded Systems and Robotics. The outcome is top class placements both in industry (TCS, Intel, Amazon, Google, etc.) and top colleges for PG degrees (IITs, CMU, etc.). There have been spontaneous engineering startups in: automation, solar energy system deployment, mobile robots, drones, etc. Going ahead, the plan is building out e-Yantra as a global platform for youth to engage with peers across the world to solve problems of mutual interest especially in the area of sustainability and to build startups.
