Jumpstarting young lives
PROPELLORS is a FORTESS funded initiative aimed at helping deserving, underprivileged students realise their dreams of pursuing college education in Top-Tier institutes in the country. Apart from sponsorship, FORTESS also supports the students of Grade X & above, via mentoring and coaching.
June 2023
The first batch of Propellors was initiated in June 2023 at Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School at Kasuva district in Tamilnadu, which covers more than 40 villages in the vicinity and provides free education to more than 2000 students. 5 deserving students from Grades 9 & above were chosen by FORTESS & our implementation partner, for a fully sponsored Coaching for their dream of taking up the IIT-JEE exams. Year-round support for the students has been provided and the same has been committed for a period of 4 years until they graduate school.
FORTESS plans to extend the program to 100 students across the country. 2024 will see the program being extended to West Bengal, Karnataka and Telengana districts.
